Grade Wars

July 16, 2008

Last night the red team finished off their three week conquest to become Grade Wars champions. It was an awesome battle and the Black/White almost pulled the upset, but the red team proved to be too much. We had a huge crowd last night and it was awesome to see some students coming in and connecting to each other. So WhirlyBall awaits for our first champions this Friday Night. It will be a great time for a well earned victory.

40 Days Update – Sleep is useless

July 12, 2008

I used to run with a crowd of people that would say you can sleep when your dead. Last night I think I found the long lost relatives of that group. MS students have more energy than Chuck Norris and were non stop all night. I expected a few of them to drop of in the wee hours of our overnight-er, but no. They all went the distance. It was a blast and I had a great time hanging out with our students as they shredded up Slapshots. We had some new kids connect in and we all built some better relationships. I am a little tired and not even sure I am awake right now, but if I keep sleeping I’ll leave an indention in my mattress.

SLEEP IS USELESS!!!!! (Except for guys who are 30 and out of shape and have no business trying to be in Middle School again.)

God is never silent

July 7, 2008

I know that no matter how loud the outside world is, God is never silent. In fact he is always loud, just sometimes I dont’ block out the noise as well as others so he seems to be quiet. In these times I just try to expand the opportunities God can speak through. I talk to more people about what God is doing, I read some different books, I listen to different messages on line. When God seems silent, I open my ears more to try and find his voice. Nothing matters if I am not pursuing God’s heart for my life. He has a plan for me and my family and my ministry. All of this is way too hard if I cannot hear the voice of God.

So pray for me as I try and open up to hear God and know his will for our students and families as we try to help students and parents belong and become.
